Palio di San Martino - Barrel Race
The San Martino Festival in Castell'Umberto takes place in November and celebrates the ancient traditions linked to the feast of San Martino. The central moment of the event is the traditional "Corsa delle Botti" during which teams from all over Italy compete in an adrenaline-filled and fun race.
The Palio di San Martino is a competition where teams compete in rolling large barrels along a given route.
On the occasion of the event, dedicated to rural tradition and the promotion of territory, local craft stands and food stands are set up where you can taste typical local products and specialties: mushrooms, roasted chestnuts, hazelnut tagliatelle, homemade macaroni with sauce, frittuli, local wine...
During the festive days folkloristic, musical and entertainment shows are organised.
