Verdello Festival in Roccalumera - La Zagara D'Oro

The Verdello Festival in Roccalumera takes place every year in August and celebrates a characteristic citrus fruit of this area: the Verdello lemon.
The Verdello lemon, characterized by its green rind, is very fragrant and has a sweet taste with a slightly acidic tip and a very juicy pulp.
The Verdello Festival in Roccalumera takes place in Sciglio, a village of Roccalumera, and includes tastings of many preparations made with Verdello: first courses, ice creams, sorbets, lemonade, liqueurs and much more.
On the occasion of the gastronomic event, the La Zagara D'oro National Award is also held, which is awarded to Sicilian personalities who have distinguished themselves nationally and internationally.
