Pond of Ondine in Pantelleria
The Laghetto delle Ondine di Pantelleria, located on the north-eastern coast of the island between Punta Spadillo and Cala Cinque Denti, is a saltwater lake, shallow and fed from the sea that rises and breaks on the cliffs during storm surges. Its waters are very clear and warm, they warm up earlier than those of the sea because the depths are not very deep. The sea in front of the lake is instead characterized by very strong currents.
The Ondine lake can be reached both by sea and by land through a well-marked path that starts from Punta Spadillo. A new path with access from Cala Cinque Denti was also created by the State Forestry Company.
