The Lake of Venus in Pantelleria, also known as Mirror of Venus, is a lake of volcanic origin located in the northern part of the island. The mirror lake of Venus is one of the most evocative and characteristic places on the island.
It is an extinct crater of an ancient volcano fed by both thermal springs that from the rains, and occupies the bottom of a depression of calderic origin. Thanks to this peculiarity, on the southern shore where the thermal springs are concentrated, the waters of the lake are warm and full of sulfur and the seabed is covered with thermal mud with exceptional beneficial properties for the skin.
