Martingana Beach in Pantelleria
The Martingana Beach in Pantelleria is one of the most famous on the island because it is one of the few c ales protected from the Mistral winds . It is formed by a lava stone cliff and bathed by a crystalline sea with amazing and very fishy backdrops. It is recommended for snorkelling and diving lovers as the waters between Cala Martingana and the nearby Cala Rotonda offer a fascinating underwater itinerary. The name Martingana derives from the shape of the coast which recalls the shape of the Latin sail boat which has the stern equal to the bow.
Cala Martingana is easily accessible while the nearby Cala Rotonda can only be reached via sea.
