Gramsci's House in Ustica
Via S. Francesco al Borgo, 3 - Ustica (PA)
In Ustica there is Antonio Gramsci's Casa di Confino, where he lived, during the Fascist period, together with five other confined persons. Antonio Gramsci was sent to Ustica where he had to stay for five years. He spent only 44 days on the island, from 7 December 1926 to 20 January 1927, because he was then arrested again and transferred to the Milanese prison of San Vittore until his death in April 1937.
