Pastizza Cave a Ustica
The Pastizza Cave of Ustica is located in the southern area of the island. It is believed that its name derives from a pyramid-shaped rock that precedes the entrance to the cave, called the "Pastizzu", a dialect word for "Pasticcio".
The Pastizza cave is made up of a series of cavities communicating with each other, it presents a very large environment with a very articulated morphology and considerable differences in height. There are two rooms that emerged above the sea level and in one of these there is the statue of the patron saint of the island: San Bartolicchio.
The cave has an entrance by sea and two divers. It has a fascinating underwater development and is the destination of many expert divers who go into the depths of the cave.
