Rosata Segreta Cave in Ustica
Secret Cave of Ustica, also known as the Pink cave, is one of the most beautiful caves on the island. It opens onto a short stretch of cliff overlooking the sea, known locally as "murazzo", a dialect word for "wall".
The Rosata cave is enhanced and protected by the Marine Nature Reserve and is characterized by a abundant covering of an encrusting calcareous alga which gives it, in the terminal part, a spectacular pink color, hence the name "Grotta Rosata".
The cave is highly recommended for diving enthusiasts. A guided tour is recommended because the cave is not easy to identify.
