Verde Cave in Ustica
Grotta Verde di Ustica is located in the southern part of the island and is part of a vast complex excavated by the sea.
The Green Grotto is part of a large cave which is now divided into two parts, the upper part is called Grotta Sireta , the lower part is called the Green Grotto.
The environment inside the Green Grotto is not very large and is occupied by large collapsed blocks that emerge from the water. The peculiarity of this cave is given by the emerald reflections that arise in the points where the lateral walls of the cave widen when immersed in the water.
It is possible to access the cave there by sea with a small boat when the sea is calm, otherwise swimming.
