Spalmatore Tower in Ustica
The Torre dello Spalmatore di Ustica is located on the western tip of the island, in the Spalmatore area. The Tower was part of the sighting system of the Coastal Towers of Sicily, and was built in 1763 together with the nearby Torre Santa Maria.
Torre dello Spalmatore is now home to the Marine Protected Area, it houses a study and research center, a library and a conference room. The tower organizes activities for informational and educational purposes, cultural events, meetings with school groups, screenings, shows and exhibitions.
