Zucco Grande in Filicudi
Zucco Grande is an old village on the island of Filicudi, now uninhabited. It is located on a promontory in the northeastern part of the island, connected by an old path to the Port of Filicudi area. Once Zucco housed about three hundred people, and it was an enchanting place, today we can only admire the ruins that are largely covered by dense vegetation. From this place you can enjoy a splendid panorama. In Zucco Grande there is also an ancient spring, in a cave, near which a natural oasis was founded.
From Zucco Grande, through a mule track it is possible to reach Case Ficcarisi where a luxuriant vegetation has developed, mainly composed of heather, rock roses, strawberry trees and wild roses. This locality takes its name from the small settlement that once developed here. From here you reach a suggestive panoramic point from where you can admire the complex of islets dominated by La Canna and Montenassari.
