Panarea Museum
The Museum of Panarea is a detached section of the Museum of Lipari.
The museum is housed in two rooms belonging to the Church of San Pietro di Panarea. The Museum is divided into two exhibition rooms: Room I has an introductory character and offers, with an educational-illustrative apparatus, the geological, volcanological and naturalistic aspect of the island, as well as the historical chronology. In the same room are exhibited some archaeological finds, which can be placed between the Upper Neolithic and the Middle Bronze Age, coming from Calcara, Piano Quartara and the village of Capo Milazzese. The exhibition is also enriched by a model that reproduces the wells, referable to the Early Bronze Age, found in the Calcara area; Room II exhibits materials from the Greek and Roman ages, consisting of fragments of black-varnished ceramic and African terra sigata from the Calcara area and funerary objects from the necropolis of Drautto.
