Aeolian Museum of Emigration in Salina
The Aeolian Museum of Emigration is located on the island of Salina, in the nineteenth-century Marchetti palace, donated by an American builder originally from Salina. The purpose of the museum is to remember the transoceanic emigration of the Aeolians who, between the nineteenth and twentieth centuries, left the archipelago to head above all to Australia, Argentina and the United States. Inside the museum there are documents, letters, photographs, films and significant objects of the migratory experience that men and women of the Aeolian communities have donated.
