Gelso Beach in Vulcano

The Gelso Beach , located on the southern coast of the island of Vulcano , is characterized by a beautiful coastline of black sand mixed with gravel bathed by a clear blue sea. The beach dominated by a very suggestive lighthouse and from which it is possible to admire the Saracen coast as well as Mount Etna.
It is an uncrowded beach because it is less easy to reach than the other beaches. It can be reached by car or motorbike along the provincial road that from Porto Levante continues to Vulcano Piano and then branches off to Gelso or Capo Grillo. It is easier to reach it accompanied by the fishing boats that leave every day from the "Black Sands" to go around the island or by taxi boat.
