Valley of Monsters in Vulcano
The Valley of Monsters in Vulcano , located north east of the Vulcanello peninsula, is a large lava field with large volcanic rocks that take on rather unusual shapes and poses. These figures were created by a sudden cooling of the lava. The place is made even more suggestive thanks to the play of light and shadow created by the rays of the sun which, resting on the rocks, cast shadows that resemble monsters, eagles, bears, lions and dinosaurs.
