Albero Sole in Lampedusa
Albero Sole di Lampedusa , better known as U Signuruzzu , is the name of the highest point on the island of Lampedusa . On the top of this promontory there is a small circular building which houses a wooden crucifix.
Albero Sole is also one of the most spectacular viewpoints on the island , particularly impressive at sunset. From this place you can enjoy an exceptional view of the Faraglione, also called Scoglio a Vela , and of the cliffs overlooking the sea . Given the height, to enjoy the view it is advisable to lie down on the ground near the edge.
On the same path necessary to reach Albero Sole, taking the semi-asphalted road, you pass, on the right, a reforestation area of the forest that leads up to a small iron cross, from which you can see a promontory that offers an enchanting view of the Scoglio del Sacramento and in the distance, on the left, on the islet of Lampione .
