Cala Creta in Lampedusa
Cala Creta in Lampedusa, located in the eastern part of Lampedusa, is a bay surrounded by a stretch of rocky coast and protected from north winds, in particular from the mistral. From the neighboring cliff it is possible to dive into the water from a height of about five meters. The sea takes on changing colors in this stretch of coast due to the alternation of rocky and sandy bottom. For the richness and variety of the seabed, Cala Creta is recommended for snorkelers.
Not far from the coast, in the early morning or late afternoon, it is possible to spot from the top of the cliff schools of Dolphins . At the beginning of spring, however, whales pass through this stretch of sea intent on feeding on the abundant krill transported to this area by the strong eastern currents.
