Church of San Nicola di Mira in Alcara li Fusi
The Church of San Nicola di Mira is located in the Calvario district, popularly called "a Rocca", and is probably the oldest religious building di Alcara Li Fusi.
According to the sources, the building dates back to the 15th century, but the oral tradition says that the church dedicated to the cult of the Holy Bishop already existed since the Middle Ages. It is said, in fact, that the parents of San Nicolò Politi, before his birth, came here on a pilgrimage directly from Adrano to ask for the grace of a child from the Saint, who was then very revered.
The building is characterized externally by the portal with ogival arch. The interior, with a single nave, is completely bare of works of art.
Usually the building is not accessible to the public, it is made usable during the FAI days
