Pastoral Village "Stella" in Alcara Li Fusi
Salvatore Gioitta - GNU FDL
The Stella di Alcara Li Fusi Pastoral Village , better known by the inhabitants of the village as " Stidda ", is a site of considerable ethno-anthropological importance.
The village is located next to the stream of the same name, above the center of Alcara, on the slopes of the Rocche del Castro.
It is an ancient rural village made up of small constructions in dry stone with roofing in brick or in Ginestra branches, the "pagghiari". The houses are surrounded by stone walls that act as a fence for the cattle.
The Stella Pastoral Village is the only survivor of the many villages that in the past dotted the Nebrodi Mountains.
