Capo d'Orlando Lighthouse
The Capo d’Orlando Lighthouse, located at the foot of Mount Madonna, is the symbol of the city together with the Sanctuary of Maria Santissima.
Its construction dates back to the early 1900s and represents a reference point for sailors in the stretch of coast between Capo Calavà and Cefalù.
The structure consists of a square-plan tower plastered in red adjacent to a building, also with a square plan and symmetrically located, developed only on the ground floor. The lantern, located at the top of the tower, can be reached via a spiral staircase located inside the red tower itself. The exterior of the structure is adorned with architectural decorations in white plastered concrete that give the building a particular neo-Gothic appearance.
