At the entrance to the town there is the Caronesi nel mondo square which houses the war memorial, representing an enormous cannonball that destroys life; the names of the Caronese soldiers who died in the war are engraved on the two columns.
From the square it is possible to admire a wonderful panorama of the Aeolian Islands.
