Church of San Giovanni Battista of Castanea delle Furie
It was rebuilt on the remains of the previous structures, in Romanesque - eclectic style and reopened for worship in 1933.
The facade is enriched by three portals with stone arches carved with crosses, friezes and floral motifs. Next to it stands the sturdy quadrangular bell tower crowned by battlements.
The interior is a Latin cross with three naves. The ceiling is trussed with false ceilings covered in wood.
Among the works kept in the church of particular value are: some marble frontals, decorated with suggestive colored arabesques; a painting of St. John the Baptist to which a legend is linked, and a statue of 1690 made by prof. Antonio Zizza, depicting St. John the Baptist wearing a simple goat skin.
