Floresta is a small village immersed in the Nebrodi Park. Located about 1300 meters above sea level, Floresta is the highest municipality in Sicily.
The first news about Floresta dates back to the fourteenth century: the territory where the village stands today was assigned to Peregrino De Pactis, but the current it began to form only starting from 1619 when the feud passed under the power of the Spaniard Antonio Quintanas Duegna.
