Treasure Museum of the Cathedral of Messina
The Museum of the Treasure of the Cathedral of Messina, located in the south atrium of the Cathedral, exhibits a very precious collection that is the expression of the creative genius of Messina goldsmiths and silversmiths and testimony of the devotion to the patron saint of the city, the Madonna della Letter.
The museum, built on the occasion of the Jubilee of 2000, exhibits, in the suggestive atmosphere of a starry sky, rendered by the ceiling lights of the exhibition rooms, about four hundred works dating from the 10th to the 20th century.
In the atrium of the museum, it is possible to appreciate a Neapolitan artistic nativity scene in the eighteenth century style.
