Grange of San Pietro in Monforte San Giorgio
The Grange of San Pietro Apostolo in Monforte San Giorgio is a complex of rural houses with a small church.
It was built in 1550 by will of the notary Pietro de Lello who, in his will, named the Benedictine monastery of San Placido as his universal heir Calonerò of Messina on the condition that a small church dedicated to Saint Peter the Apostle be built in Monforte San Giorgio.
Of particular value is the beautiful marble statue of San Pietro Apostolo, dating back to the first half of the sixteenth century, kept in the small church.
Today the complex is privately owned.
