Fontana Tirone in Montalbano Elicona
The Tirone Fountain in Montalbano Elicona, also known as the King's Fountain, is a place of historical importance for the village. In fact, it is said that King Frederick III of Aragon, on the advice of the Catalan doctor Arnaldo da Villanova, exploited the healing properties of the waters of this fountain to cure gout. Evidence of this hypothesis is the presence of a guardhouse located just north of the fountain.
