Solar Pointers in Montalbano Elicona
The Solar pointers of Montalbano Elicona are two large rocks used by man as a solar calendar.
The Solar pointers, located in the Bosco Casale on the border with the municipality of Basicò, have large holes dug into the rock. One of these pointers is directed perfectly to the east and marks the arrival of the equinoxes and therefore the alternation of the seasons.
