The Church of San Francesco in Novara di Sicilia is the oldest church in the village, dating back to the 13th century.
The building is annexed to what remains of a small Franciscan convent also from the 13th century.
Murati on the left side of the church the jamb of a large door and a Gothic-style window are still visible, which date back to the time the church was built.
The interior, with a single nave, has a fine wooden ceiling, made by nine trusses resting on shelves that look like human faces.
Inside the church, on the high altar, covered with marble in 1884, is kept a wooden crucifix that dates back to the time the church was built .
