Town hall in Novara di Sicilia
Palazzo Santa Maria is the seat of the town hall of Novara di Sicilia.
The building was built around 1610 to house the RRs. Worker Fathers of San Filippo Neri who maintained the Oratory erected there for over two centuries. Following the confiscation of ecclesiastical property by the State, the convent took the name of Palazzo S. Maria and became the Town Hall.
Next to the convent stood the Church of San Filippo Neri, destroyed during the modernization of the city .
On the key of the arch of one of the side doors of the building a heart symbol of the Order of Worker Fathers is embossed.
The ceiling of the atrium of the Palace was frescoed by the artist dr. Saverio Fazio of Novara origin, in 2002.
