Casalaina Theater in Novara di Sicilia
The Municipal Theater of Novara di Sicilia is dedicated to the Novara musician and composer Riccardo Casalaina (1881-1908).
The building was completed in 1770 and therefore the Casalaina Theater can be considered one of the oldest theaters in Sicily.< br>Unfortunately, the Theater retained its original appearance only until 1958 when the finely decorated wooden structures were replaced by a reinforced concrete framework. During the restoration, the hall was enlarged, reducing the surface of the stage, altering the original eighteenth-century conformation.
The theater still hosts a prestigious theater season today.
