Chapel of the Three Virgins in Nebrodi Park
The Chapel of the Three Virgins is located in the heart of the Nebrodi Park, at about 1200 meters on the slope of Monte Trearie, in the Acquasanta district, in the municipality of Tortorici.
The chapel looks like a small mountain refuge but has a small iron cross on the roof. Inside there is a small altar with a pool of sulphurous water. According to tradition, the sulphurous water spring enters into effervescence when it answers the prayers of those who approach it with humility and sincere faith.
The legend of the Three Virgins is linked to this mysterious place.
Every year at the dawn of the first Sunday in August, many devotees go to the Chapel of the Three Virgins to participate in the Holy Mass. Today the Chapel has also become a destination for trekkers, bikers and riders attracted by the mystery of this place.
