The village of San Marco D'Alunzio offers numerous places from which to enjoy a splendid panorama. At the entrance to the town, at the beginning of Via Aluntina, there is a small square from which to enjoy a splendid panorama of the Nebrodi Mountains and the Tyrrhenian coast. The small square is enriched by some contemporary works of art: the Ghiaccio ronte bench, made of local stone by the artist Leonardo Cumbo; the Fila mural, the work of Alberto Ruce, which represents an elderly man in the act of weaving rope threads to make a chair. The work was created as part of the transumanze project which focuses on the progressive abandonment of Sicily by young people forced to emigrate in search of work and the consequent loss of ancient crafts, culture and local traditions. This progressive loss of cultural identity is highlighted by the pictorial technique of transparency: a technique that conveys the sensation of something that is about to disappear.
