Church of San Giovanni Battista in San Marco D'Alunzio
The Church of San Giovanni Battista in San Marco D'Alunzio is a small place of worship that stands among the picturesque streets of the village.
It was built in the 16th century and was the seat of the Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament.
The simple rectangular façade has a round portal surmounted by a small opening. On the top, on the left side, stands a small belfry. The side elevations are made with large ashlars of stone.
The interior, with a single nave, houses a canvas dating back to the 17th century.
Externally, on the side of the building, an excavation is visible where tombs from the Hellenistic age have been brought to light.
