Church of Santa Maria dei Poveri in San Marco D'Alunzio
The Church of Santa Maria dei Poveri in San Marco D'Alunzio is an ancient building of worship in the village.
It was built in the 17th century and stands in an enchanting position from which it is possible to enjoy a splendid panorama of the coast Tyrrhenian Sea.
The simple façade, flanked by an imposing bell tower truncated at the top, is enriched by a valuable Sicilian Baroque style portal made of red Aluntino marble.
The interior, with a single nave, has a valuable wooden ceiling.
The church is now used as an auditorium.
