Gate of Sant'Antonio in San Marco D'Alunzio
The Gate of Sant'Antonio in San Marco D'Alunzio is a gate of medieval origin which was an ancient entrance to the city. In medieval times the village of San Marco d'Alunzio was in fact a fortress city, surrounded by walls on which four access gates opened.
The Porta di Sant'Antonio, the only gate that has survived to this day, is made up of a round arch with lateral ashlars in red San Marco marble.
