The Museum of Anchovy and Seafaring Arts in Aspra , created by the brothers Girolamo and Michelangelo Balistreri, collects elements of the seafaring art of the family business and many factories operating throughout Sicily. > The museum, unique in the Mediterranean panorama, exhibits relics, documents and tools that document centuries of procedures of anchovy salting in Sicily . There are numerous fishing gear, along with models of craft fishing boats. The museum also contains intangible assets, preserves stories that tell stories of seafarers, testimonies that complete an extraordinary page of Sicilian identity. The Museum also hosts exhibitions, workshops with schools and develops relationships with its reference world.
