Guttuso Museum in Bagheria
The Guttuso Museum of Bagheria , inaugurated in 1973, houses works by Renato Guttuso donated by the master to his hometown.
Guttuso's works range from paintings to sculptures, from drawings to engravings and are representative of over forty years of activity. In the colors used by the master in his fascinating canvases we find all the scents of his Sicily, the scorching sun that splits the earth and the courage of the political choices that characterized the artist's life.
In addition to Guttuso's production, the museum it also houses works by 20th century artists such as, among others, Cagli, Mario Schifano, Onofrio Tomaselli, Silvestre Cuffaro, Domenico Quattrociocchi, Pina Calí, Giuseppe Pellitteri.
The museum also has an ethnographic section in which various finely carved and historiated Sicilian carts are exhibited and a rich section dedicated to movie posters.
The museum is housed in the Catholic villa located on the outskirts of the city.
