San Cataldo Villa in Bagheria
Villa San Cataldo in Bagheria, built in the early eighteenth century, has the appearance of a medieval castle.
Around 1860, the new buyer, Count Galletti di San Cataldo, radically transformed the building according to the canons of the neo-Gothic style. Of the original structure remains the small church and the majestic eighteenth-century garden rich in valuable tree species, flowers, plants, centuries-old pines and wide avenues adorned with historic pillars and seats and lookout towers.
The villa consists of a long two floors, with corner turrets containing the stairs, flanked by a courtyard with a small garden inside.
