Mother Church of Balestrate
The Mother Church of Balestrate, dedicated to Sant'Anna, is the main place of worship in the village.
It was built starting from 1842 and after eight long years it was finally opened to the public.
It has a Romanesque floor plan three naves, two bell towers and a large dome.
The church, with its imposing size, houses statues and artistic treasures of considerable value: in the chapel of the Blessed Sacrament built in 1842 you can observe the paintings by Benedetto Messina from Monreale, the imitation marble by the artist Carlo Righetto from Padua and a wonderful eighteenth-century wooden crucifix.
