Fishermen's Beach in Balestrate
The Pescatori Beach, Fishermen's Beach, in Balestrate is located in the only cove that has survived the centuries, close to the town and can be reached by a comfortable staircase. This place historically represents the heart of the ancient village from which Balestrate originates, the ancient Sicciara, where the fishermen arrived and left for their daily work. The beach is pebbly and is enclosed in the side wings by rocks while behind it is the ancient cliff.
It is bathed by a clean and crystalline sea, whose flora is rich in posidonia, an aquatic plant that represents a good indicator of the state of health of the ecosystem, rich in precious virtues: it is considered an antioxidant and antifungal, in the past also used as an anti-inflammatory.
