Church of San Benedetto Alla Badia in Caccamo
The Church of San Benedetto alla Badia di Caccamo is located in the square next to the Chiesa dell’Annunziata .
The church retains a superb majolica floor dating back to the eighteenth century. It is attributed to Nicolò Sarzana from Palermo. From the Matroneo, once intended for the cloistered nuns of the adjoining convent that no longer exists, it is possible to admire it from above. Also noteworthy are the stuccos in the apse by Bartolomeo Sanseverino: in the lunette above the Supper of Emmaus is depicted, on the two sides of the altar the allegorical statues of Chastity and Obedience.
