The Francesco Bentivegna municipal library in Corleone, housed in the complex of the former San Ludovico orphanage, is one of the oldest libraries in the area. It houses numerous ancient volumes that belonged to the congregations of friars of the Dominican, Franciscan and Capuchin orders who alternated in the city of Corleone over the centuries.
The library's book heritage numbers approximately 23,000 volumes, of which 2,000 sixteenth century books, 5,500 books published from 1600 to 1850, and approximately 15,500 volumes dated from 1850 to today.
