Church of San Bernardo in Corleone
The Church of San Bernardo in Corleone stands on the site of the saint's birthplace.
The small church is located on the corner between via San Bernardo and via delle concerie, precisely to remind us how these places are closely linked to life of St. Bernard: in the first his birthplace was located, in second, his father's leather tannery.
The church was built in 1803 at the behest of Don Vincenzo Cammarata, thanks to the donation of Domenico Cammarata, on the site of the birthplace of San Bernardo. The small church is in fact the size of a house.
The simple façade has a portal with bronze panels that narrate the life of the saint.
. The interior has a single nave covered by an elliptical vault decorated with geometric panels and stuccos that create the effect of large embroidery.
Inside the church are kept the simulacrum of Saint Bernard and some objects that belonged to him.
