Botanical Garden in Palermo
The Botanical Garden of the University of Palermo , bordering the historic Villa Giulia , is a natural open-air museum.
Inside the Garden Botanical hosts many plant species, the result of two hundred years of studies and research, which have created a very suggestive place frequented by both scholars and tourists.
The peculiarity of this splendid garden is the richness of species housed, among the which stands out the Mediterranean plant component and the tropical and subtropical one, integrated over time with numerous elements of exotic flora. It is possible to observe magnolias, cotton trees, giant bamboos, papayas and many other plant species, which alternate with ancient statues and monumental bas-reliefs.
