Piersanti Mattarella Park in Palermo
The Piersanti Mattarella Park in Palermo , also known as the former English Garden , is a public park designed in 1851 by the architect Giovan Battista Filippo Basile.
The garden includes two parts, separated by viale della Libertà: the wood and the parterre.
The wood, designed respecting the roughness of the ground, is an alternation of hills and small valleys, among which there is a small temple inspired by Arab architecture- Norman and a glass and wrought iron greenhouse.
In the "parterre" stands what was formerly called "Villa Garibaldi", a green area now dedicated to the memory of the judges Falcone and Morvillo, where the equestrian monument dedicated to Giuseppe Garibaldi is located .
