Astronomical Observatory in Roccapalumba
The Pizzo Suaro Astronomical Observatory in Raccapalumba is a scientific dissemination center equipped with sophisticated instruments, a point of reference for Sicilian amateur astronomers.
Located in the hamlet of Regalgioffoli, the observatory dominates the San Leonardo Valley, and is located under a sky free of light pollution and therefore suitable for astronomical observations.
The observatory is equipped with a powerful Newton telescope, with electronic self-pointing for the observation of over 4000 celestial bodies and with special equipment that allows the astronomical photography. There are also various environments aimed at receiving the public, and educational exhibitions, astronomical photography exhibitions, conferences and lessons.
