Church of Sant'Anna in Sciara
The Church of Sant'Anna a Sciara stands in the main square of the town.
It was built in the 17th century at the behest of the Notabartolo family. Due to the instability of the land on which it stands, it has had many structural problems over the centuries which led to the construction of a second church dedicated to Sant'Anna.
The façade has a vaguely Gothic appearance given the presence of two tall spiers.
The interior, with a single nave, houses valuable works: two stoups carved in local stone; the baptismal font by the sculptor Civiletti; a painting depicting Saint Anna with the Madonna as a young girl; a canvas of the Risen Christ with Magdalene at his feet; the wooden sculpture of the Heart of Jesus dating back to the 18th century; a fine chiseled silver monstrance with 19th century bas-reliefs.
