Arch of the Annunziata in Chiaramonte Gulfi
The Arch of the Annunziata in Chiaramonte Gulfi, dating back to the 14th century, is the only remaining gate of the ancient walls of the city.
It represents one of the most fascinating views< /strong> of the historic center of Chiaramonte Gulfi.
Up until the 18th century, the gate was called Porta di la Chaza because it bordered the first square of the town, which has now partially disappeared. It has ancient bas-reliefs on the sides.
Another gateway to the city was Porta Ragusa, now completely disappeared, which stood near the castle beam. Today only a road sign remains with the caption via porta.
