Civic Museum in Comiso
The Civic Museum of Natural History of Comiso has a Paleontological Section and a Zoological Section.
Inside the museum there is a large cultural and scientific heritage represented by over 10,000 fossil finds from various geological eras, by numerous zoological preparations, by about 2000 naturalized terrestrial and marine animals, by various osteological preparations and the most important cetological collection of southern Italy. Over 7000 fossil finds belong to the “G. Insacco ”and other fossil and zoological finds were recovered following missions carried out by museum staff or thanks to donations from private individuals.
