Water Mill and Museum in Caves in Modica
The Water Mill and the "Cavallo d’Ispica" Museum is a jewel of 18th century peasant art. Thanks to the perfectly preserved environments, today it constitutes a testimony of a peasant civilization by now extinct. Attached to the mill, it is possible to visit the "miller's house" consisting of a cave used as a dwelling, with adjacent stable and barn, also obtained in caves. There is a collection of mill maintenance tools for its wooden parts, of the house for repairs or in agriculture for making baskets or plowing the fields.
